The concept revolves around the idea of creating a central space that allows for activities that encourages communication and networking of its users. The hearth of the building houses the main interaction between its inhabitants which in turn increases the productivity, creativity and quality of its ideas in the professional industry. Responding to the brief to house office spaces alongside training classrooms, the design aims to conjoin these two working dynamics rather than demarcating them. The design aims to enhance the working and learning experience at MBAM by expanding the nexus of communication, in line with the Association's mission to support and participate in programs favorable to the construction industry.
Strategically demarcating offices, training and commercial spaces into efficient blocks, the design took advantage for the central void to be a central movement for users accessing the different floors of the building. The centrepiece being an atrium filled with light that houses circulation as well as activities that engages its users in communication, the centre atrium is the hearth of the building that create the MBAM community. The Grand lobby is pushed up to the third floor to create a journey through the vertical movement system from the ground floor.
